CFR takes place at Rexall Place in Edmonton on:

What is the CFR Six Pack?

What events take place at each performance?
At CFR you see all the major pro-rodeo events at every performance. The first event is Bareback, then Steer Wrestling, Novice Events, Boys Steer Riding, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.

How does a contestant qualify for the CFR?
The top 10 point earners at the end of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Associations season, and the top two qualifiers from the Canadian Rodeo Tour compete.
What happens to the hockey ice?
The ice plant is turned off, allowing the concrete slab to warm up and then the ice starts to melt. As the ice melts it is broken up and moved into a pit. Next, 500 cubic yards of dirt is brought in. The dirt is packed down to create a foundation, then a top layer of loose dirt is worked in until the ideal texture is formed.
How are the bullfighters selected?
The bullfighters, the pick-up men, and the timers are all voted on by the contestants.
How is the stock selected?
Stock lists are provided by the 12 different stock contractors. The event reps then review the stock list and selects which animals should be at the finals. Each night in the rough stock events a draw is made to see which contestant rides on which animal.
When did CFR start in Edmonton?
The Canadian Finals Rodeo started in 1974, and was originally hosted in the Edmonton Gardens.
