On Saturday, November 8th, 2008, at the matinee performance of the Canadian Finals Rodeo, the 50/50 draw went unclaimed after a pair of winning tickets had been announced. Since a 50/50 draw had never gone unclaimed in the 35 years of the Canadian Finals Rodeo, the matter was taken to the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission for an official ruling on how the funds should be dispersed.
The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission has notified Northlands that the remaining surplus of $16,662 should be rolled over to the 2009 Canadian Finals Rodeo. With this in mind, all excess funds remaining from the unclaimed 50/50 draw will be added to the opening night performance of the Canadian Finals Rodeo on Wednesday, November 11, 2009.
All 50/50 tickets purchased at the Saturday, November 8, 2008, matinee performance of the Canadian Finals Rodeo will not be valid for the draw next year. We apologize for any confusion that this matter may have caused, and thank you for your support as we awaited a ruling from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
We look forward to seeing you back at the Canadian Finals Rodeo from November 11-15, 2009.
